I finally get it. General Flynn betrayed his country back in 2014. As head of the DIA, he was supposed to warn Obama that Russia was about to invade Ukraine. Instead, Flynn was fired right after the invasion.
Then he flew to Russia to meet Putin.

Trump made a much more serious effort than I’d previously realized to get Pence and congressional republicans to block certification.
My previous understanding had been that it was mostly irresponsible public-facing communication that inspired suckers to riot.

— 49% of voters saw Hillary Clinton as to their left
— 33% of voters saw Donald Trump as to their right
That was a big advantage for Trump which let him win and let him fill all these Supreme Court seats.

Since 2012, Democrats have adopted more progressive positions on a very wide range of issues.
The goal, I assume, was to enact more progressive policies. But the actual result has been to contribute to the opposite happening.
