I think what a lot of people want to say is that if Romney had made a different, more restrained claim about Russia, that claim would have been true.
And that’s fair enough — but Obama mocked him, rightly, because the actual thing he actually said was wrong.

My biggest question about Russia/Ukraine predictions is why did *Putin* get this so wrong? Almost all wars involve someone seriously misjudging the situation and that’s why we have here.

Back in the days of the Bush-Obama education reform consensus “promote racial equity in public education” meant “pay more attention to the quality of the teaching in heavily minority schools.”
Ed schools and unions have now jujitsued it into “measuring learning is racist.”
