Outside of SF this is a boring boring election. One of the most boring I have ever seen, but pro- housing residents should still vote for Bonta. He’s been cool 😎 so far.

Yesterday a friend told me that although he thinks late-term abortion is killing a human being, those are lives that we should sacrifice to make our society more free, like soldiers who "bravely laid down their lives at the Battle of Gettysburg".

My more nuanced view is that it's fine to protest outside the home of any of these people except Justice Sotomayor because she lives in my neighborhood and that would be annoying.

I have a more permissive view than many of the rights of citizens to protest against powerful officials, but whatever standard one adopts must apply to all.

Dems should put a bill on the floor that codifies legal abortion in the first trimester and see how many Rs vote against it. That seems like a tougher bill to vote against

cities passing restrictive SB 9 ordinances know exactly what they're doing, their intentions are bad, and the legislature should put a stop to it next year (and since those ordinances probably violate state law already, AG could go after em now)
