Young people exhibit larger political swings because they are less engaged and less knowledgeable than older people, you shouldn’t assume that the *causes* of the swings are different from the ones operating among the rest of the population.
The YIMBY vision is to build new dwellings in proportion to demand for living in a given place so that people *don't* get pushed it. It's NIMBYism that creates zero-sum scrambles where the only way for new people to arrive is to displace someone else.

I don’t know how consistent anyone is on these things. In Ramallah I once asked some activists if they thought Mexico was wrong to make peace with having lost land to the USA in a war of aggression. They said yes, Mexico should fight for justice.
