Congress should eliminate the favorable treatment of donating appreciated assets relative to selling the assets and donating cash. It would raise some extra tax revenue while eliminating an incentive for rich people to engage in dumb accounting gimmicks.

This is not dispositive as to the merits of the issue, but I just really wish the discussion of it would acknowledge that the majority of Americans — in all age cohorts — have $0 in student loans because they did not attend college at all.
