It says something that an American can get to the point where his two most likely futures are 1) win back the presidency and abolish democracy, or 2) become a de facto fugitive selling stolen state secrets for enough cash to survive

I will be interested to see how Levi's responds to this because they do not come across well in @JenniferSey's telling. The level of groupthink she alleges occurred at Levi's isn't healthy for society.

An intellectual mistake a lot of people make is to collapse a complex issue down to one dimension. You figure out which "side" the person is on and then judge everything they say through that lens.

It seems like a lot of the hostility toward Sey wasn't for what she said but for the stereotypes they had about the kind of people who agreed with her. But it's important to leave room for dissent because even "pro-science" communities can mistakes.

Because EVs are finally being sold to the same type of consumers as every other car instead of niche eco-conscious buyers. It's exceedingly good news that that's the case.
EVs don't solve every problem created by cars, just one small one - climate change.

So I'm thrilled to see the Biden administration begin explicitly talking about a new supply-side economics.
But I don't want to see that just become a rhetorical frame for Build Back Better.
They need to go a lot further, and they can.

"decision regarding the financial financial statements"=they are false because you lied
"totality of the circumstances"=the D.A. is serious
"non-waivable conflict of interest"=we are now on team D.A.
"not able to provide new work product"=sorry we're not going to jail for you https://t.co/jbK2WUjncy

What's great about Twitter is that Matt can cite a study that is broadly consistent with research going back to at least the 1950s and the responses are mostly cranky but split between "this is obvious" and "this is not true".

There is no great stagnation.

It is, but not because theyβre greedy (which they are) or cheap (which they are).
Itβs because they TRULY believe that theyβve done nothing wrong, the value delivered between apps and the iPhone is entirely one-way, and they deserve a third of all money that changes hands there.
