I think this nudges me further toward “move aggressively in the next two meetings and try to gauge the response.”
Movingly slowly feels sensible but could exacerbate these dilemmas.

I'm uncertain about the trajectory of inflation.
But even conditional on my inflation views, I'm even more uncertain about what exactly monetary policy should do. Nervous about overreacting but also nervous about being so far from a reasonable place now.

But this actually the problem — in a society we need mechanisms for making collective decisions, things can’t be subject to universal veto.
Canada has a nice liberal society with open debate and free and fair elections.
