Labor unions poll pretty well, but the concept of collective bargaining without the term “labor union” polls even better.

It’s amazing how much more money Steve Ballmer has made off Satya Nadella than Nadella himself has made — CEO as victim of capitalist exploitation. https://t.co/4i1fQUdL61

Dare Obasanjo @Carnage4Life
Happy 8th anniversary as Microsoft CEO to @satyanadella, probably the greatest value creator on Earth who's added $2T in market capitalization during his tenure.
He turned around a company Paul Graham wrote off as dead over a decade ago. https://t.co/yHrE6ScSPb

I think the stories reporting good news on the subversion front tend to get overlooked, but it's important to pay attention comprehensively.

The New York Times @nytimes
The speaker of the Republican-controlled Arizona House — who supported Donald Trump in 2020 — just torpedoed a bill that would have let lawmakers reject the results of an election. https://t.co/3yMKIhCNC4

Secretly not a vegan is a great political scandal

southpaw @nycsouthpaw
“He’s not a vegan, he’s a pescatarian,” said the staffer, who was granted anonymity to speak candidly about the mayor. https://t.co/6pwMmYp5pX

The progressive tax on ads proposal from @paulmromer strikes me as far and away the most compelling policy response to the dueling concerns about misinformation & censorship in digital media.

The idea that we’re going to solve vaccine resistance by being more emphatic that mainstream medical and media figures are strongly pro-vax doesn’t withstand even cursory scrutiny — need to either come up with better ideas or learn to live with the vaccination rate we have.

Relatedly — I sincerely think that in the State of the Union speech, Biden should thank Twitter for their help during the national emergency in the immediate wake of 1/6 but call for Trump to be reinstated as a gesture of goodwill and bipartisanship.

What’s happening in Canada with the use of trucks and tractors to create mobile right-wing extremist war lord convoys to try to shut down urban centers and terrorize healthcare workers and political opposition will be replicated in the US soon.
Count on it.

I was looking for a term to capture the opposition between the progressive centrism of Biden and the bullshit obstructionist centrism of Manchin. And I think @VitalikButerin's "Bulldozer vs. Vetocracy" axis did the trick:

Always read Starr on Ukraine:

Terrell Jermaine Starr @Russian_Starr
Class on Ukraine is in session!
I'm gonna explain why the progressive call for diplomacy on Ukraine is hollow, lacking in facts, and devoid of context by introducing you to a piece of diplomacy that was supposed to prevent this Russian-made crisis from happening.
Thread.
