@Noahpinion When I was in college, I had a prof from Iran. I remember him telling us about how excited many of his liberal friends were during the brief period between when the Shah was overthrown and when the Ayatollah took over, and how sadly disappointed his friends wound up.
@Noahpinion I thought that this was a good cautionary tale for people who really want radical change. When you upset the apple cart, the apples often do not land where you expect them to.

Where Iβm at with Covid is that reasonable people can disagree as to how much coercion should be used to save lives, but if you are going to coerce people the thing you should coerce them about is vaccination which is very very very effective.
