Yep, and there is also lots of robust historical precedent for voters caring about inflation. You can't wish everything away by blaming the media for covering the news.

Noah Smith 🐇 @Noahpinion
I doubt this is true. Real wages have been falling, even though nominal wages have been rising, simply because it's very hard for people to get raises that keep up with inflation.
People are upset about falling wages. https://t.co/Hr0hHioo2c

If the AMA wants to promote “health equity” maybe they should stop lobbying to make medical care scarce and unaffordable rather than trying to change how doctors talk?

As an intern I tried to get a line about crucifying mankind upon a cross of corn into a Chuck Schumer floor speech about ethanol blending rules, but the staff wouldn’t go for it. https://t.co/O8xaZtnDdV

Eric Levitz @EricLevitz
4 things that Biden can do to reduce prices *without* passing any new laws or slowing economic growth:
1) Repeal Trump's tariffs.
2) Let refiners put less corn in gasoline.
3) Let Medicare reimbursement rates fall.
4) Let more immigrants work here.

Doctor: Avoid a diet containing X and see if your symptoms improve.
Me: Wouldn’t it be better if I spent 2 weeks avoiding X and 2 weeks consuming lots of X and monitored my symptoms?
Doctor:…
Me: Actually, let me see if I can get a friend to spike my food with X.

I feel like this will eventually be considered a major screwup on par with the early mask messaging. https://t.co/JQGfSOf5vw

Leana Wen, M.D. @DrLeanaWen
It was a major mistake for the FDA and CDC to limit booster availability. The messaging has become muddled. It needs to be clear: Immunity wanes over time. A third dose restores very strong protection. All American adults should get boosters before the holidays. @JohnKingCNN https://t.co/nJ9RKxJ9tm

This would, of course, kill Twitter's business model.

Ethan Mollick @emollick
Why has Wikipedia achieved a moderate consensus on topics while all other internet platforms polarize?
🕶Wikipedia doesn’t filter what users see, so each article is exposed to different views
🙅Rules & norms subtly encourage extremists to leave, retaining moderate content & users https://t.co/6S8hTLNf8q

YES. THIS. This is SUCH a more positive, effective approach to workplace diversity than the DiAngelo/Okun insanity.

Jay Van Bavel @jayvanbavel
While many pro-diversity initiatives focus on raising awareness about the fact that implicit bias & subtle discrimination are widespread, it is far more effective to draw people’s attention to their peers’ pro-diversity values and attitudes (via @SMurrar) https://t.co/4Z538Q1Jxo https://t.co/sIwXZpZTUa

Elon Musk is a green billionaire, someone innovating in atoms as well as bits, and an entrepreneur who also benefits from government. The prefect billionaire for lefties unless you simply hate billionaires.

I will spoil the twist: Ivermectin appears to have real benefits to Covid patients … when given out in places where parasitic worms are very widespread (because worms are bad and Ivermectin is a good treatment for worms).
