OPINION: If some police officers want to leave because they don’t want to take the vaccine, we should let them.

Police would rather quit than get a COVID vaccine? Good. We’ll be better off without them

I’m a broken record on this, but the more we learn about the pressure on Pence, the more we understand that how much his decision to defy Trump was a hinge moment in our history. It’s tough to even imagine the consequences had he caved. https://t.co/oPz2DHHUzr

The depravity is something. Pence aide sent #Eastman an email during the riot telling him they were under siege, and Eastman responded by blaming Pence and *mocking* the attack, putting "siege" in quotes.
“The ‘siege’ is because YOU and your boss did not do what was necessary…" https://t.co/UnPxWQKJGT

To be serious, this is a big problem with the trend toward professional associations wanting to tackle all kinds of justice questions.
Housing is important to health, but getting housing policy right requires technical knowledge doctors don’t have.

Bo, et. al. (2017) looking at conscription records showed that for Swedish men, mayors and especially members of parliament were a lot smarter than the population average.

People who say econ has no predictive power need to learn the story of how Berkeley economics professor Dan McFadden successfully predicted BART ridership in advance.

scott cunningham @causalinf
I thought this was an interesting slide -- "used to predict effect of BART system *before it was built*". I wonder what that was like back then to read McFadden on that, if it felt really radical at the time. https://t.co/YjqHGSPI5Y

There are already small signs everywhere of a rotation away from radical online ideology back toward more traditional types of entertainment products:

Oh I just figured out what's going on with this tweet. Chapo used to be the #1 Patreon show and these ppl are salty that a comedy podcast overtook Chapo https://t.co/Fncc06W73y
