Columbus was a terrible person, but I do think people should appreciate that in its historical moment Columbus Day was a "woke"/"PC" gesture designed to make Italians specifically and Catholics generally feel included.
Basically a "1492 Project" to decenter Anglo-Protestantism.

I think the key move is to raise it to google dollars, thus avoiding the “all numbers that end in -illion sound the same” problem and anyone who tries to talk about it will sound like they’re talking about Google.
