However annoyed you are with Joe Manchin his Value Over Replacement Senator is extremely high and his electoral results speak for themselves.
Sinema’s results are if anything worse than Mark Kelly.

Why do we not use salt to sweeten Pepsi Cola?
Why do we not use hydrofluoric acid to lubricate cars?

Rep. Madison Cawthorn @RepCawthorn
Why do we not use cryptocurrency as the new gold standard?

The filibuster’s not actually a law.
Sorry, I’ll show myself out.

Hillary Clinton backs ending filibuster, says GOP "does not respect the rule of law" https://t.co/IGSUvCM7q8 https://t.co/YLDpNpsyHT

This is just fantastic news. Kudos @votefwd! Somewhere between .5pp and a .8pp effect on turnout in the 2020 elections from letters written by volunteers to voters around the country!

The turn against governors as presidential candidates seems to me related to the alarming trend where our most prominent politicians are just the ones who tweet a lot.
Collapse of politics into a media/fandom dynamic.

It's difficult to think of another series that could start like like Nine Princes in Amber, and end like The Sum Of All Fears.
Thoughts on @cstross' Merchant Princes series, and the final volume (Invisible Sun) that hit shelves this week: hugoclub.blogspot.com/2021/10/the-be…

In 1973, we built one new housing unit for every 33 U.S. households.
In 2005: one new home for every 55 households.
In 2021: one new home for every 92 households.

"Just build more!", they'll say.
Sure. We are. That's not the issue.
Multifamily construction is at a decades long high.
The problem is that most of it is large expensive buildings in the urban core.
Mostly in response to the increase of high income renters. https://t.co/7lNvDYp2VC

My guess is that one sign that unrest has peaked is when these cults start trying to woo each other. It suggests that their individual growth has peaked and they're looking to merge, like companies in a mature industry.

imagine pretending to believe that the reason you, as a progressive, dislike Joe Manchin is that he is insufficiently attuned to the voices of the voters in his R+35 state
