It's partly because there's a puritanical streak in America's public health establishment and they were worried that people would (gasp!) begin seeing friends and family because of the "false sense of security" that tests provide.

This is an important tweet because it clarifies that the problem with "the way Biden did the AFGH withdrawal" is in fact *that he did the withdrawal* rather than reversing course.
A lot of work has gone into hiding this ball but there is it.

I think the most disturbing thing about the way Biden did the AFG withdrawal is that it showed his ideological inflexibility. The situation was changing, threat going up, and when the military asked for authorization to adapt, he wouldn’t budge. No flexibility. No pragmatism.
