I feel like we should talk more about how the senate passed a big bipartisan science funding bill and it’s being held up in the House for poorly explained reasons.

Manu Raju @mkraju
A frustrating end to '21 for Ds, as BBB and bill to rewrite voting laws stall - as they face grim prospects of keeping House next year and the Senate at risk, too.
And on Manchin: "I don't know where he is today or where he’ll be tomorrow," Durbin says

Right now I'd bet that some version of BBB is going to pass in Feb/March. Dems will have passed BBB, the Bipartisan Infra. Bill, 1.9T ARP, USICA, etc.
And the left's tone will STILL be sneering ridicule about how Dems do nothing, like always. It's poisonous and it kills us.

I would be more optimistic about web3 if I didn't feel like I've seen this movie over and over again over the last 15 years.

Decentralized means no moderators. It’s the libertarian internet.

I don’t know why, but this reply has really stuck with me. “web3 is promising because I once wasn’t allowed to squat on 1,200 twitter usernames that I planned to flip for profit”. It’s just… so revealing https://t.co/6Gbs9Gjixt

After turning a poorly informed advisory panel into a pitchforks and torches mob that depressed the take up of boosters and thereby doomed thousand to needless deaths, Philip R. Krause wonders why the FDA has stopped relying on advisory panels.

@wesyang It's the Chapo demographic. White privileged kids who are smart enough to succeed in school but not smart enough to compete with immigrants and strivers in the modern economy. They know they'll never match their parents success.

@Noahpinion I’ve adopted @IDoTheThinking’s phrase “downwardly mobile gentrifiers” for this group. More cutting and descriptive than Percariat or Chapos. It also hints at the geographic concentration of Internet leftists in Brooklyn and a few west coast cities.
